For the sixth consecutive year, SBS Philippines Corporation (SBS) was again the recipient of this year’s Golden Arrow Award for corporate governance by the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), the Philippine domestic ranking body for the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS), in recognition of SBS’ corporate governance performance in alignment with the recommended CG standards under the Philippine Code of Corporate Governance and international CG best practices espoused by the ACGS. More importantly, SBS proudly achieved an impressive 2-Arrow recognition based on the 2023 assessment, highlighting its continuing efforts to raise its corporate governance standards.
ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS)
The Golden Arrow Award is conferred by ICD to top publicly listed companies (PLCs) in the Philippines that received scores of 80 points and above on their ACGS and Corporate Governance Scorecard (CGS), .based on a tiered scoring mechanism providing for five distinct performance levels of attaining corporate governance excellence, with each ascending level symbolized by additional golden arrows. These corporate governance scorecards serve as a tool to demonstrate a company’s commitment to good corporate governance practices.
In the awarding ceremonies that took place on September 19, 2024, SBS Vice Chairman and SVP for Sales & Marketing, Mr. Necisto Y. Sytengco II, expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, “This award reflects the dedication and effort of our entire team, who work tirelessly to uphold integrity and transparency in all our operations.
