Quezon City, Philippines, March 7, 2025 – SBS Philippines Corporation is proud to announce the launch of its “Used Plastic Bottle Garbage Bin” program, further reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability. This initiative aligns with the Philippine government’s efforts to significantly reduce and eventually eliminate plastic waste.
The program introduces specially designed bins in public spaces, starting with Barangay Halls. Moreover, it highlights SBS Philippines Corporation’s dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and its ongoing mission to create a positive environmental impact.
“We are doing this to support the government’s initiative to address plastic waste, which is a pressing environmental challenge,” said Mr. Gerry D. Tan, President and CEO of SBS Philippines Corporation. “Through our ‘Used Plastic Bottle Garbage Bin’ program, we aim not only to raise awareness but also to encourage proper waste disposal practices within our communities.”
As part of its efforts, SBS Philippines Corporation has successfully implemented this program at its facilities in Marilao, Quezon City, and in Malabon. Consequently, the company has seen encouraging results from these initial implementations.
Building on this success, the company is now collaborating with local Barangay offices to expand the program further. By doing so, SBS Philippines Corporation aims to combat plastic waste, which is a major cause of flooding and pollution in land, water, and marine environments.
“We firmly believe that small efforts, when combined, can lead to significant environmental improvements,” said Mr. Esmeraldo Tepace, General Manager and COO of SBS Philippines Corporation. “Thus, our program is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and our desire to inspire others to join us in this vital endeavor.”
